Frequently Asked Questions
GOT QUESTIONS?
Everything you need to know about renting, lending, delivery, insurance, payouts, and more.
Renting
How does renting work?
Browse pieces by size, occasion, neighbourhood, or vibe. When you find one you love, pick your rental dates and send a request to the lender. You're only charged once the lender confirms — no surprise bills. Once confirmed, an in-app chat opens so you and the lender can coordinate delivery. That's it.
How do I find pieces near me?
Use the filters in the app to search by location (neighbourhood), size, occasion, or price range. Most Bangkok lenders are within a Grab ride of each other, and we'll always show you how far a lender is from your saved location.
When am I charged?
Only after the lender accepts your request. If they decline or don't respond within 24 hours, your request is cancelled and nothing is charged. Payment is held securely via Stripe and released to the lender only after your rental is complete.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), PromptPay, and select digital wallets — all processed securely through Stripe.
Can I try on the piece before committing?
Listings include detailed size notes and the lender's real photos — read these carefully before booking. If a piece genuinely doesn't fit when it arrives, you have 2 hours after receiving it to submit photo or video evidence (before the event). On You reviews case by case. Claims are not accepted after this window closes.
Can I extend my rental?
Yes! Message your lender via in-app chat before your rental end date. If they're available, extensions are billed at the same daily rate. Never assume — always confirm in advance to avoid late fees.
Delivery & Returns
How does delivery work?
Once your booking is confirmed, an in-app chat opens between you and your lender. You sort the logistics together — Grab, Flash Express, Kerry, or a direct meetup. Most Bangkok lenders are quick by Grab 🛵. All delivery details must be agreed before your rental start date, so coordinate early.
Who pays for delivery?
Delivery costs are agreed between you and the lender. Many lenders factor a standard delivery fee into their pricing. Always confirm before the rental starts — surprises aren't fun for anyone.
What if my piece arrives late?
Contact the lender immediately via in-app chat. If the piece arrives too late to use due to a lender-side issue, contact On You support and we'll mediate fairly. Always document with timestamped photos when the piece arrives.
How do I return a piece?
Return by your rental end date via the same method you received it. Give it a basic clean (spot wash or hand wash per the listing instructions — no need to dry-clean unless stated). Before you pack it up: take full photos of the piece, front and back. These protect you if there's any dispute about condition.
What if I return late?
Late fees are 1.5× the daily rate per day, starting the morning after your end date. If you know you'll be late, message your lender before the end date — most are understanding if you communicate early. Surprises = bad. Early heads-up = usually okay.
Insurance & Damage
What is Peace of Mind Insurance?
Every booking automatically includes Peace of Mind Insurance — our mandatory base coverage that protects both renters and lenders.
Covers sudden damage and loss up to ฿2,000 per rental. Normal wear and tear isn't covered — that's what rental income is for. Not sure if something counts? Just ask us.
The fee is tiered by item value:
Up to ฿2,500
฿100
/ order
฿2,501–฿5,000
฿150
/ order
฿5,001–฿10,000
฿200
/ order
฿10,001+
฿300
/ order
What exactly is covered?
Covered (up to ฿2,000): Sudden accidental damage — small stains, broken buttons/zips, accidental tears, minor fabric damage, and loss of the item. The key word is sudden and accidental.
Not covered: Normal wear and tear (pilling, fading, general aging), damage from improper washing or care, pre-existing damage that wasn't reported, intentional damage.
Not covered: Normal wear and tear (pilling, fading, general aging), damage from improper washing or care, pre-existing damage that wasn't reported, intentional damage.
Not sure if your situation qualifies? Reach out to On You support before assuming. We'd rather help clarify than have you surprised.
What photos do I need to take?
The golden rule: document everything.
For lenders:
📦When you receive: Timestamped full photos + close-ups of any existing marks. Report pre-existing damage within 2 hours of receipt.
↩️Before returning: Full photos of the piece, front and back, before you pack it. Your proof it left in good condition.
📤Before sending: Full photos of the clean piece, close-ups of any existing wear or marks.
📥When returned: Photos of the returned condition immediately on receipt.
How do I make a damage claim?
Minor damage (under ฿2,000): Report in-app immediately with timestamped photos. Peace of Mind Insurance handles the rest.
Major damage (over ฿2,000): Contact On You support immediately with photos. We mediate fairly based on actual evidence — not just one party's word. We always give both sides a chance to respond before any charges are applied.

Speed matters. The sooner you report, the easier it is to resolve.
Cancellations
What's the renter cancellation policy?
✅Before lender confirms: Full refund, no questions asked.
✅72+ hours before start: Full 100% refund.
🟡24–72 hours before: 50% refund. The lender blocked their calendar for you.
❌Under 24 hours / same day: No refund. The booking stands.
What if the piece doesn't fit when I receive it?
To claim an "unwearable" refund, you must submit photo or video evidence within 2 hours of receiving the item, before the event. On You reviews and decides case by case. No claims are accepted after this window — this protects lenders from renters who wear the piece and then dispute.
What if the lender cancels on me?
If a lender cancels a confirmed booking, you receive a 100% automatic refund — no questions, no waiting. The lender's account is flagged. Repeated cancellations by lenders may lead to suspension.
What happens to my earnings if a renter cancels? (Lenders)
✅Renter cancels 72+ hrs before: No earnings, but your piece is immediately re-available for re-booking.
🟡Renter cancels 24–72 hrs before: You keep 50% of your rental earnings.
✅Renter cancels under 24 hrs / same day: You keep 50% of your rental earnings.
Lending
How do I list a piece?
Four steps: snap it → price it → describe it → publish. Takes about 2 minutes. The app will suggest a price range based on similar listings in Bangkok. Your listing gets reviewed by the On You team within 48 hours before going live.
Great listing tips: at least 3 photos (worn on a person, flat lay, close-up of details). Natural light. Honest size notes. Any existing wear. Care instructions.
Can I decline rental requests?
Yes, always. You approve or decline every request — your piece, your call. We do ask that you respond within 24 hours so renters aren't left hanging. A high response rate makes your listing more visible.
Can I set my own prices?
Yes. A common rule of thumb is 5–10% of the retail price per day. The app shows a suggested range based on comparable listings. You can also offer multi-day discounts to attract longer bookings.
Can I pause or remove my listing?
Yes — pause anytime it's not on an active rental. You can also block specific dates (e.g. when you want to wear it yourself). If you're with OnUs, request your piece back anytime via the app with 48-hour return, no exit fees.
Payouts & Tax
How much do I earn per rental?
Standard listing: 80% to you, 20% to On You. OnUs managed listings: 70% to you, 30% to On You (we handle everything — photography, storage, cleaning, delivery). Minimum withdrawal: ฿300.
When do I get paid?
Earnings appear in your dashboard once the rental ends and the return is confirmed. You can withdraw to your bank account (PromptPay or bank transfer) within 3–5 business days.
Do I need to pay tax on my rental income?
For lenders in Thailand:
• Income under the ฿150,000 personal exemption: Likely no tax due 🟢
• Above exemption threshold: Normal Thai personal income tax brackets apply
• Withholding Tax (WHT): On You may withhold 3% per Thai Revenue Department rules. You'll receive a WHT certificate for your annual tax filing.
• VAT: Our commission is VAT-inclusive. If you're VAT-registered (revenue over ฿1.8M), contact us for proper invoicing.

Most individual lenders renting a few pieces per month fall well under the exemption threshold. Still — talk to a Thai tax advisor for your specific situation. We're a rental platform, not accountants 😅
